A sharp pencil running through my brain.
Now what's your feeling as we contemplate
the daily headlines some like to call fate,
this trivial pain that goes on every day?
The World's not flat, it's fucked. But still,
I believe life is beautiful.
And I even have the nerve to think
I'm not the only believing it.
So it seems we're just a bunch of kids singing out loud our simplistic lyrics.
Still, does it mean that we're wrong?
We're told «what you see is what you get»
and «what you gets what you deserve».
Yeah right, I'll try to remember that
next time I see the «big picture».
While others get life on a plate
some barely get to scrape what's left.
War. Pollution. Racism. Hate.
Or wait, maybe it's only my teenage angst.
So it feels like everyone agrees that this planet is like hell, but with less heat.
So why don't you sing along?
If you believe what you see is what you get
and that they get what they deserve
then my friend you need to get a grip
and get out of that herd.
But don't give up, no don't give in.
Keep you hopes high and bet we'll win.
No matter how naive it seems,
it really is all up to you and me.
